THE SUMMER BURN BAN HAS ENDED

When the Summer Burn Ban is not in effect, please refer to the following information listed below for Clayton County.

REQUIRED ACTION:

STEP 1: You must call the Clayton County Fire & Emergency Services Burn Line at 770-473-3836 to see whether burning is allowed in the County. This information is updated daily by 9:00a.m.

 STEP 2: ADHERE to the decision made on the Burn Line.

 

RULES

The location for open burning shall be greater than 25 feet from any structure, and provisions shall be made to prevent the fire from spreading to within 25 feet of any structure.

Fire shall be limited to a size that can be easily controlled with the resources available on the property.

Burning is allowed seven (7) days a week given that weather conditions are favorable as determined by the Fire Marshal’s Office.

 

Persons violating this ordinance shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $1,000.00 per violation.
